Profile Description
This role is responsible for day to day activities pertaining to the implementation of various health, safety & environmental initiatives across the organization.
Educational Qualification
Graduation/Post Graduation in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering/Environmental Science from any reputed public or private university.
Experience
0-5 years of working experience in related industry and specifically in safety/maintenance function.
Functional Activities
a) Ensure to implement the safety procedure at the unit/Corporate Office.
b) Ensure the preparation of the safety materials including signs and symbols on safety to be displayed across the units.
c) Assist Sub Function: Health, Safety & Environment in preparing budget for safety initiatives across the organization.
d) Conduct regular training in areas such as safety laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring and use of safety equipment within the designated area.
e) Interpret safety regulations for others interested in industrial safety, such as safety engineers, labor representatives and safety inspectors.
f) Analyze statistical data related to safety, occupational illnesses, accidents etc. and highlight the findings.
g) Maintain MIS/records and documents pertaining to HSE related certification.
h) Assist in maintaining compliance to ISO - QMS and EMS requirements as per standard.
i) Research and collect data to identify best practices for Health, Safety and Environment protection around the industries and prepare draft proposals.
j) Ensure timely escalation of challenges, concerns or unforeseen developments pertaining to the risk and actions to prevent their recurrence.
Leadership, Talent and Culture Development
a) Direct the process of effective department performance, overseeing performance management, recruitment, training and development of staff to ensure high level of engagement and motivated work environment.
b) Engage and mentor direct reports to prepare them for larger and higher roles with BSRM.
c) Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
d) Manage counselling and grievances of reportees.
e) Manage attendance and leave of reportees.
f) Ensure appropriate allocation of workload to reportees to enable work-life balance.
Coordination
a) Coordinate with fire service departments, medical aid societies and rescue teams, so that emergency responses can be facilitated.
b) Coordinate renewal of relevant license such as Fire license, environmental clearance etc. and keep the copy of licenses.
c) Coordinate with functions and units to address the safety observations in the concerned area.
