Profile Description

This role is responsible to define strategy or process or initiative of leveraging AI transformation and digital technologies, resulting in deeper changes in the organization to lead the opportunities for increased efficiency, revenue and value-producing opportunities.

Educational Qualification

Graduation in Computer Science/ Data Science/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Industrial Engineering/ Automation or a related field from any reputed public or private institute.

Experience

10-15 years of relevant functional and people management experience, preferably from manufacturing industry. Conversant with AI, Big Data, robotics, and industry 4.0. Proven experience in AI integration within a manufacturing environment will get preference.

Functional Activities

  1. Develop and implement AI integration and digital transformation strategies aligned with the overall organizational vision, mission, and objectives. This includes transformation roadmap, identifying key business drivers, defining target outcomes, and establishing clear timelines and milestones.
  2. Responsible for driving and leading transformational projects across the organization. Should be able to plan, execute, and monitor complex programs that can deliver tangible benefits to the business, such as demand and production planning, energy optimization, workforce productivity, safety analytics etc.
  3. Float Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to identify and engage AI solution providers. Assess technical proposals and quotations received from vendors.
  4. Study the feasibility and identify future approach for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), cloud connectivity, machine learning into the manufacturing process.
  5. Ensure AI tools integrate with PLC, SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), MES (Manufacturing Execution System), ERP system.
  6. Build trust and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, senior leaders, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment and buy-in for the transformation agenda. This includes communicating the benefits and risks of the transformation initiative, building consensus, and addressing any potential roadblocks.
  7. Manage the change process across the organization, including assessing the impact of the transformational initiatives on people, processes, and technology. This includes developing change management plans, managing stakeholder communications, and monitoring progress against change objectives.
  8. Upskill managers and engineers on AI-enabled decision-making.
  9. Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the organization by identifying and implementing best practices, tools, and processes to optimize performance, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  10. Monitor and report progress against transformational initiatives, including tracking key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying issues and risks, and recommending corrective actions as needed. Prepare regular reports to senior management and other stakeholders on data governance, quality and security.
  11. Establish and maintain relationships with technical partners and third parties, in order to support the digitalization or process improvement.
  12. Own AI transformation budgets, track benefits realizations (cost savings, uptime, quality improvement etc. and present the progress and ROI to the leadership team.
  13. Ensure compliance to safety requirements, regulations and emission standards as applicable to operations.

  2. Direct the process of effective department performance, overseeing performance management, recruitment, training and development of staff to ensure high level of engagement and motivated work environment.
  3. Engage and mentor direct reports to prepare them for larger and higher roles with the company.
  4. Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. 
  5. Manage counselling and grievances of reportees.
  6. Manage attendance and leave of reportees.
  7. Ensure appropriate allocation of workload to reportees to enable work-life balance.

Coordination

  1. Coordinate with leadership team for the feasibility and implementation of IT transformation and digitalization initiatives.
  2. Coordinate with external stakeholders to address and resolution any issues during implementation and support.

Competencies
