Profile Description
This role is accountable for ensuring timely procurement of machineries/materials as per project requirements and ensuring adherence to quality standard and budget.
Educational Qualification
Graduation / Post-Graduation in Engineering from any reputed public or private university.
MBA in Supply Chain Management will be considered as an added advantage.
Experience
8-10 years of relevant functional and people management experience.
Functional Activities
a) Plan, manage and monitor the purchase of materials, equipment, machinery and supplies.
b) Responsible for vendor identification, empanelment and relationship building/management.
c) Supervise, prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies, services and equipment.
d) Evaluate quotations based on parameters specified in SOP and take feedback from user.
e) Negotiate purchase terms and rates with the vendors.
f) Prepare the contracts for negotiating with suppliers/vendors.
g) Collect feedback from project concerns regularly on issues related to materials, analyze the issues and escalate with the suppliers/vendors as required.
h) Monitor supply chain and supplier performance; while maintaining constant communication with suppliers to identify process, product and service improvement opportunities; seek, document and realize cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities.
i) Formulate plan for material sourcing/ ordering basis requirements from the respective project.
j) Ensure the performance of procurement for allocated projects achieve pre-defined metrics/standards.
k) Responsible for ensuring and monitoring of material receipt, inspection and storage.
l) Monitor the items code and locator and assign code in units/locations through ERP/Oracle system as per requirement.
m) Assist in creating the standards for procurement and plan/forecast of services/material basis stakeholder discussions.
n) Support Sub Function – Project Procurement & Inventory for material costing and other planning by providing data through research.

a) Attract and develop talent in the steel business.
b) Direct the process of effective department performance, overseeing performance management, recruitment, training and development of staff to ensure high level of engagement and motivated work environment.
c) Engage and mentor direct reports to prepare them for larger and higher roles with BSRM.
d) Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
e) Manage counselling and grievances of reportees.
f) Manage attendance and leave of reportees.
g) Ensure appropriate allocation of workload to reportees to enable work-life balance.
Coordination
a) Coordinate with user departments to assess the need and ensuring timely PR/PO for the procurement of material/equipment.
b) Coordinate with logistics for timely inbound and outbound of procured items/ materials/ machineries etc.
c) Coordinate with Finance & Accounts for timely processing and disbursement of payment of vendors.
